In 2016, the Government of Hong Kong designated the second Saturday of November every year as the Organ Donation Day, hoping to increase organ donation rate by continual public education and promotion. Since then, Department of Health organized activities on Organ Donation Day every year to increase public awareness on the subject, while at the same time, facilitating interaction amongst stakeholders and concerned organizations. HKOTF has actively participated in these activities to contribute our effort in promoting the culture of organ donation.

In Oct 2016, Dr. Kelvin Ho, President of HKOTF, and Mr. Lincoln Yu, Vice-president of HKOTF, represented HKOTF to join the carnival and bus parade organized by Department of Health to celebrate the 1st Organ Donation Day in Hong Kong.

Prof. Chan See-ching, Vice President of HKOTF, represented HKOTF to receive a Certificate of Commendation from Food and Health Bureau at Garden of Life, Kowloon Park on the 2018 Organ Donation Day, as an appreciation to the outstanding performance of HKOTF on organ donation promotion.

Dr. Ho, President of HKOTF, and other committee members took part in the Organ Donation Day 2019 and 50th anniversary of first kidney transplant in Hong Kong.

Dr. Kelvin Ho, President of HKOTF, Mr. Eliot Li, Hon. Secretary and Mr. Derek Tse, Hon. Treasurer took part in the Organ Donation Day 2023.
