HKOTF intends to use different approaches to facilitate secondary school students in exploring the subject of organ donation.  Since our establishment, we have accepted invitations from about 60 secondary school students for interviews and written replies, in response to questions relating to their “Independent Enquiry Study Report” of Liberal Studies.  The topics of the Studies include the challenges of promoting organ donation in Hong Kong, the feasibility of implementing the opt-out system, and ways to enhance the organ donation rate in Hong Kong, etc.

Apart from that, HKOTF started to offer internship opportunities for secondary school students in recent years. The student interns participated in the delivery of organ donation thematic seminars from the perspective of a teenager. They also participated actively in other promotional activities of HKOTF. Through the learning by doing approach, we hope that students can gain a better understanding of the subject and help further disseminate positive messages of organ donation to their family and friends.

Dr. Ho, the President of HKOTF, and other staff members conducted interviews with secondary school students to discuss topics related to organ donation for their   “Independent Enquiry Study Report” of Liberal Studies.

Supervised by staff members of HKOTF, secondary school student interns participated in HKOTF’s organ promotion activities. They also took part in organ donation school seminar to deliver messages from the perspective of a teenager.
