An Oral History of Hong Kong Organ Donation and Transplant Project- Students’ Sharing session was held on May 5 2018, with over 100 participants attended. Dr. Kelvin Ho, the Founder and Founding President of HKOTF, Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) of HKBU and Dr. Allen Cheung, ex-Director (Cluster Service) of Hospital Authority and Project Director of Chinese Medicine Hospital Project Office, attended and delivered speeches.

HKBU and Secondary School students formed different groups to conduct 18 interviews respectively. The students shared their experiences and gains in the sharing session.

Through the interviews, students from Heep Yunn School had increased knowledge on organ donation and transplant. They would continue promoting organ donation to their family and friends.

Students from Queen Elizabeth School said that they gained much knowledge and experience in organ transplant from the interviewees.

Wa Ying College’s students said that they would share knowledge learned from the project with their friends and relatives and encourage them to support organ donation.

Join Hands to Preserve Valuable History and Explore the meaning of Organ Donation

HKOTF collaborated with Prof. Wong Man-kong, Department of History at HKBU, and facilitated by over 80 students from Hong Kong Baptist University, Heep Yunn School, Queen Elizabeth School, and Wa Ying College, 18 stakeholders were invited for interviews. The interviewees included medical practitioners, government officials, organ recipients and family members of organ donors, who have played significant roles in the organ donation and transplant history since the 1960s. Through the project, students were able to learn from the experiences of stakeholders, as well as gaining knowledge on organ donation and transplant.

A Students’ Sharing Session was held on 5 May 2018 at the Academic and Administration Building, Shaw Campus, HKBU. Over 100 participants attended the Sharing Session. Dr. Kelvin Ho, the Founder and Founding President of HKOTF, Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) of HKBU and Dr. Cheung Wai-lun, Project Director of Chinese Medicine Hospital Project Office delivered speeches and expressed gratitude to the students’ hard work and dedication.

Students shared knowledge and feelings they gained from participating in the project. Their performance was impressive. They expressed that they would continue to share organ donation related information to others in order to cultivate an organ donation friendly society.
